Optimal Pricing of Services with Switching Costs
Customer switching costs are an important factor in account-based services such as telecommu-nications, financial, insurance and brokerage services. In these businesses, existing customersincur significant costs if they switch to another provider. Such costs include physical config-uration and installation costs, contractual costs (e.g. termination fees) and cognitive costs ofle...
متن کاملOptimal Spatial Pricing Strategies with Transportation Costs
We consider an optimization problem in a given region Q where an agent has to decide the price p(x) of a product for every x ∈ Q. The customers know the pricing pattern p and may shop at any place y, paying the cost p(y) and additionally a transportation cost c(x, y) for a given transportation cost function c. We will study two models: the first one where the agent operates everywhere on Q and ...
متن کاملGrowth optimal investment in horse race markets with costs
We formulate the problem of growth optimal investment in horse race markets with proportional costs and study growth optimal strategies both for stochastic horse races as well as races where one does not make any distributional assumptions. Our results extend all known results for frictionless horse race markets to their natural analog in markets with costs.
متن کاملOptimal static pricing for a service facility with holding costs
We study a service facility modelled as a single server queueing system with Poisson arrivals and limited or unlimited buffer size. In systems with unlimited buffer size, the service times have general distributions, whereas in finite buffered systems service times are exponentially distributed. Arriving customers enter if there is room in the facility and if they are willing to pay the posted ...
متن کاملSuper-Hedging and Arbitrage Pricing in Markets with Transaction Costs and Trading Constraints
The arbitrage pricing principle has been used to derive price relations like the Black-Scholes formula and Heath-Jarrow-Morton models in the context of frictionless markets and unconstrained trading. These relations may or may not be good approximations to reality. Even if, they are certainly not enforced by real world arbitrage because of transaction costs and trading constraints. Recently, re...
